A JOINT RESOLUTION
Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the Commonwealth
of Pennsylvania, further providing for the maintenance and
support of public education.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby resolves as follows:
Section 1. The following amendment to the Constitution of
Pennsylvania is proposed in accordance with Article XI:
That section 14 of Article III be amended to read:
ยง 14. Public school system.
The General Assembly shall provide for the maintenance and
support of a thorough and efficient system of public education
funding to serve the needs of students in the Commonwealth.
Education spending by the Commonwealth shall be allocated to
individual students to attend the schools that fit the students'
needs.
Section 2. The following procedure applies to the proposed
constitutional amendment in this joint resolution:
