AN ACT
Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, in recordings by law
enforcement officers, further providing for audio recording
or video recording policies.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 67A07 of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a subsection to read:
ยง 67A07. Audio recording or video recording policies.

(c) Authorization.--Notwithstanding any other provision of
law to the contrary, a law enforcement agency may use technology
that facilitates the review of a video recording when
investigating incidents involving bodily injury that create a
substantial risk of death or cause serious, permanent
disfigurement or protracted loss or impairment of the function
of any bodily member or organ. To utilize the technology under
this subsection, the commissioner, chief of police, the chief or
head of a law enforcement agency or a designee thereof must

provide written or digital authorization.
Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
