AN ACT
Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An
act relating to the public school system, including certain
provisions applicable as well to private and parochial
schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the
laws relating thereto," in pupils and attendance, further
providing for actual cost of tuition and maintenance of
certain exceptional children in the four chartered schools
for education of the deaf and the blind; and making a repeal.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 1376.1(b.2) of the act of March 10, 1949
(P.L.30, No.14), known as the Public School Code of 1949, is
amended by adding a paragraph to read:
Section 1376.1. Actual Cost of Tuition and Maintenance of
Certain Exceptional Children in the Four Chartered Schools for
Education of the Deaf and the Blind.--* * *
(b.2) Payments are as follows:

(4) From money appropriated to the Department of Education
for Pennsylvania Chartered Schools for Deaf and Blind Children
for the 2022-2023 fiscal year, the amount of $1,000,000 shall be

used for capital-related costs and deferred maintenance to be
divided equally between each Chartered School for Education of
the Deaf and the Blind.

Section 2. Repeals are as follows:
(1) The General Assembly declares that the repeal under
paragraph (2) is necessary to effectuate the addition of
section 1376.1(b.2)(4) of the act.
(2) Section 1723-F.1(5)(ii) of the act of April 9, 1929
(P.L.343, No.176), known as The Fiscal Code, is repealed.
Section 3. The addition of section 1376.1(b.2)(4) of the act
and the repeal under section 2 of this act shall apply
retroactively to July 1, 2022.
Section 4. This act shall take effect immediately.
