A RESOLUTION
Urging the President and Congress of the United States to not
intervene if there is a nationwide UPS Teamsters strike and
to allow the parties to negotiate and come to a satisfactory
conclusion.
WHEREAS, United Parcel Service (UPS) is the single largest
employer of Teamster members and the UPS contract is the largest
private sector collective bargaining agreement in the United
States covering more than 340,000 Teamsters; and
WHEREAS, UPS Teamsters have helped the company make record
profits in excess of $13 billion; and
WHEREAS, The current collective bargaining agreement between
the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and UPS is set to
expire July 31, 2023; and
WHEREAS, UPS Teamsters nationwide voted 97% in favor of
authorizing the UPS Teamsters National Negotiating Committee to
call a strike in the event that a successor agreement cannot be
reached prior to the contract expiration date of July 31, 2023;
and
