AN ACT
Designating a bridge, identified as Bridge Key 22612, located on
Pennsylvania Route 72 in Swatara Township, Lebanon County,
over the Swatara Creek as the Senator David J. Arnold, Jr.,
Memorial Bridge.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Senator David J. Arnold, Jr., Memorial Bridge.
(a) Findings.--The General Assembly finds and declares as
follows:
(1) Before becoming elected to the Senate in 2019, David
J. Arnold, Jr., served as district attorney for Lebanon
County for 14 years.
(2) As district attorney, he was a tireless advocate for
victims and justice, not just in Lebanon, but throughout this
Commonwealth.
(3) Senator Arnold was a member of Governor Corbett's

elder abuse task force and served as president of the
Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association.
(4) Senator Arnold's time in the Pennsylvania Senate was
marked for his dedication to advancing causes to protect this
Commonwealth's children.
(5) Senator Arnold's noteworthy legislation increased
penalties on those convicted of possession of child
pornography and established a task force to combat this
horrid crime.
(6) Senator David J. Arnold, Jr., was the embodiment of
a dedicated public servant and his leadership on doing what
is right for his community has been missed.
(b) Designation.--The bridge, identified as Bridge Key
22612, located on Pennsylvania Route 72 in Swatara Township,
Lebanon County, over the Swatara Creek is designated the Senator
David J. Arnold, Jr., Memorial Bridge.
(c) Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and
maintain appropriate signs displaying the name of the bridge to
traffic in both directions on the bridge.
Section 2. Effective date.
This act shall take effect in 60 days.
