A RESOLUTION
Celebrating the life and honoring the memory of Trooper Jacques
F. Rougeau Jr., who gave his life in the line of duty on June
17, 2023.
WHEREAS, Born in San Diego, California, on September 7, 1993,
Trooper Jacques F. Rougeau Jr., was the son of Angela Hunt
Gervasio and her husband, Carlo; and
WHEREAS, A 2012 graduate of Corry Area High School, Trooper
Rougeau attended Penn State Behrend before earning a bachelor's
degree in criminology from The Pennsylvania State University in
2015; and
WHEREAS, After working for Weis Markets in loss prevention
for several years, Trooper Rougeau graduated from the
Pennsylvania State Police Academy in 2021; and
WHEREAS, Originally stationed with Troop J in York, Trooper
Rougeau joined Troop G in Lewistown in 2023; and
WHEREAS, On June 17, 2023, Trooper Rougeau was tragically

shot and killed by a suspect during an incident involving
Pennsylvania State Police Troop G, Lewistown Station; and
WHEREAS, Active in his community, Trooper Rougeau was a
member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and he was an avid fan
of the Penn State Nittany Lions football team; and
WHEREAS, Trooper Rougeau also enjoyed playing golf and
basketball, aviation and flying drones; and
WHEREAS, Trooper Rougeau faithfully endeavored to preserve
and protect the health, safety and welfare of his fellow
citizens and gave the ultimate sacrifice in the furtherance of
these goals; and
WHEREAS, Trooper Rougeau demonstrated exemplary knowledge,
integrity and courage in carrying out his many responsibilities
and earned deep respect and gratitude for his tireless devotion
to duty; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate celebrate the life and honor the
memory of Trooper Jacques F. Rougeau Jr., who gave his life in
the line of duty on June 17, 2023; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Senate express heartfelt condolences to
his wife of five years, Chloe Miller Rougeau; mother, Angela
Hunt Gervasio; siblings, Christina Rougeau-Bailey and Justin
Hunt; grandparents, Kenneth and Cheryl Hunt and Emily Hunt; and
many other family members and friends.
